Minimum 2 persons Pick up time: 7:00 am (depending on hotel location) This excursion starts by passing through the city of Alajuela, the second largest city of Costa Rica, and cradle of our National Hero Juan Santamaría. Also, known as the city of mangoes. Once we leave the city you could see the contrast of the busy city life with the tranquility of rural life, dedicated to agriculture, mainly coffee production, although as we ascend you will see ferns, flowers, strawberry and dairy farms. Upon arriving at Doka Estate Coffee Plantation, you will be served a Costa Rican typical breakfast and then you'll start the coffee tour, where you'll learn about the ancient techniques used by the experts to produce some of the best coffee in Costa Rica and the world. The careful process involved in the cultivation, harvesting and roasting of the Golden Bean will then be illustrated, very hands-on, after which you'll savor the delicious end product. After the coffee tour you'll continue on to the Poás Volcano where you'll be able to view the impressive main crater and walk the trails learning about the different ecosystems in this unique and protected national park.
