Tour description
The Sarapiqui River is a great introduction to whitewater rafting for first time paddlers looking for a class II-III challenge for families interested in a fun, rollercoaster wave action trip.
Set in the lowlands of the rain forest you will enjoy breath-taking views of tropical birds and lush jungle landscapes. The Sarapiqui allows you to not only enjoy the rapids but also revisit that childhood freedom we often loose sight of in the midst of the daily rigors life brings. Enjoy the big splash of rapids named “Gringo’s Hole” “Confusion” and “Air force” which will give you an experience you will never forget!
Our expert guide will pick you up from your hotel for the 1 hour and 30 minutes drive to the river. Once you arrive at the river, you’ll be fitted with all of the equipment and then given a safety orientation talk and paddle practice before the adventure begins.
Once on the river, there are three action packed hours of white water excitement. About halfway down there is a stop scheduled for a fruit break and some rest and relaxation time to restore your energy for the latter half of the paddle. At the end of the river portion your transportation will be waiting for you for a five minute drive to “Tirimbina” the Flow operation center in Sarapiqui. There you will get a towel and will be able to shower and change in private facilities getting ready for lunch, buffet style. The return trip to Fortuna will take approx. 1 hour and 30 minutes.
RESERVATION POLICIES
For reasons beyond our control (climate, river levels, etc.), we may change to a more-suitable tour with an equal or similar adventure-appeal or offer other tour options. We reserve the right to cancel a trip due to unfavorable conditions and will only run a tour according to our company policies. Full refund is given if (on rare occasion) no tour is run.
NOTE: We have an extra transport charge for hotels outside of our normal pick-up zone.
