Your journey begins at the National Theater, known as “The Jewel of San José,” a breathtaking architectural masterpiece completed in 1897 by Costa Rican artisans. Next, we’ll take you to the Museum of Gold, home to ancient treasures and fascinating exhibits that tell the story of Costa Rica’s indigenous past.
No visit to San José is complete without experiencing the bustling Central Market, where you can shop for local crafts, artwork, and souvenirs, while soaking in the city’s authentic atmosphere. From here, we’ll visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, a stunning example of colonial-era architecture.
As we continue through the city, we’ll highlight key historical landmarks, including the Costa Rica University, Old Train Station, National Liquor Factory, National Supreme Election Bureau, Asamblea Legislativa (Costa Rica’s equivalent of Congress), and the Metallic Building, as well as several picturesque parks. Along the way, you’ll learn about Costa Rica’s economy, politics, religion, and cultural evolution.
Finally, we’ll stop at a local art gallery, where you can purchase beautiful handmade crafts and unique souvenirs to remember your experience.
