Tour Description:
You will start our day with a delightful breakfast at Doka Coffee Estate, followed by an immersive coffee tour at an authentic coffee plantation. Here, you’ll discover the ancient techniques used by experts to produce some of the finest coffee in Costa Rica and globally. The intricate process of cultivating, harvesting, and roasting the Golden Bean will be vividly demonstrated, providing a hands-on experience before you enjoy tasting the exquisite coffee.
Following our coffee experience, we will proceed to Poás Volcano National Park, where you'll notice a dramatic shift in temperature and the lush vegetation of the cloud forest. The Poás Volcano, an active stratovolcano standing at 2,708 meters (8,885 feet), features a crater that spans over a mile in diameter and reaches a depth of 1,050 feet. It has had 40 eruptions since 1828, including a notable event in April 2017.
At the volcano, you’ll have time to marvel at the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles and embark on a hike along a trail to the scenic Botos Lagoon. Throughout the visit, you’ll learn about the diverse ecosystems within the park, enriching your understanding of this unique natural environment.
