Experience the best of Costa Rica with a full-day tour that combines the beauty of Poás Volcano National Park and the rich heritage of Costa Rican coffee at the Doka Coffee Estate.
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at Doka Coffee Estate, where you’ll learn about Costa Rica’s world-renowned coffee production. Explore an active coffee plantation and discover the traditional techniques used to cultivate, harvest, and roast the Golden Bean. With a hands-on demonstration, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the coffee process and, of course, enjoy tasting some of the finest coffee in the world.
Afterward, we’ll head to the Poás Volcano, an active stratovolcano that rises 2,708 meters (8,885 feet) above sea level. As we ascend, you’ll notice the temperature shift and the stunning transformation of the landscape, with vibrant cloud forests and lush vegetation. At the Poás Volcano, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring main crater, which spans over a mile across and is 1,050 feet deep, with sulfur fumaroles rising from its depths. The volcano has erupted 40 times since 1828, including a recent eruption in April 2017.
Your adventure continues with a scenic hike along the Poás Volcano trails, where you’ll be immersed in the diverse ecosystems of the park, before arriving at the Botos Lagoon, a serene crater lake surrounded by cloud forest.
