The journey starts by picking you up at your hotel in La Fortuna around 8:30 a.m., followed by a 1.15 hour ride to the Toro River where you will start your adventure.

The Río Toro offers over 45-continuous rapids along more than 16 kilometers of deep-canyon gorges and waterfalls where we often see sloths, monkeys and tropical birds, such as toucans and the colorful Montezuma Oropendula.

Once at the river, your experienced guides will give you a thorough safety talk, get you set up with your helmet, life jacket and paddle and then you're off – you'll be paddling for more than 2½ hours. You'll stop along the way for a nice, tropical fruit break and afterward we take you out for a typical Costa Rican “casado” lunch.

DEPARTURE HOUR: Approx 8:30 a.m. from La Fortuna area hotels.

RETURN TIME: Arriving at the center of the town of La Fortuna around 3:30-4:00 p.m.

WHAT TO BRING: Change of clothes, towels, strap on sandals or tennis shoes, bathing suit, shorts, sunscreen, and rain gear during rainy days.

COST:  $90.00 - $125.00 PER PERSON (Depending on hotel for pickup)

INCLUDES: Round trip ground transportation on A/C minibus, experienced bilingual guides, rafting equipment, lunch, fresh fruits and beverages.

Minimum Age: 13 years old.
