Just wanted to say thank you for all your help in making my family vacation to Costa Rica a fabulous and memorable experience. The itinerary and the travel arrangements you made were just as advertised and everything went very smoothly.  (Mexican Airlines declared bankrupcy in the middle of my vacation and getting home was a bit of an issue - but those were tickets that I booked). I will be sure to tell anyone heading to Costa Rica to contact Rainforest Tours.

Regards my friend,

Ines,

It's taken me a while to get around to writing you. We had a great time! Thanks for your help in arranging our vacation to Costa Rica. Down in Corcovado we got rained on pretty hard the first two days but had a great time. In Tortuguero the weather was sunny pretty much the whole time which is more than one should ask of a tropical rain forest. We were mostly interested in seeing animal species and most successful at Tortuguero in that regard. I was surprised by the excellence of the food at both locations.

Everything you arranged worked just fine. Thanks a lot!

During the one week we stayed in costa rica we got stuck in an 11 hour traffic jam, and almost missed our flight trying to get passports. That being said, it was the best vacation we have ever taken.

Despitde seemingly massive set backs (none of which were anybody's fault) the country was so beautiful and the trip so well planned that nothing could stop our family from having the time of their life. On behalf of the Denecke family I would like to thank you for the vacation of a life time.

Thank you so much.

The Deneckes

Dear Ines,

Hello, I hope you're having a good Monday.

Just wanted to thank you for arranging our first visit to Costa Rica. Everyone had a great time and I know for sure that I will be back. The country's beautiful and reminds me so much of my own country and it is much closer to the US.

I'll definitely come back. All in all, everyone had a good time and I know there is so much more to see and do, so I will be back.

Thank you, once again, for all your help and making all the arrangements for us. We all appreciate it.

Best regards,

F.F

Greetings, Arturo!

I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how pleased I was with the services that Rainforest Tours provided on my recent visit to Costa Rica. Once I decided that Costa Rica was my destination for the Memorial Day weekend and booked my flights, then it was time to find a hotel and sign up for the day trip excursions that interested me. This can be a challenge for someone who does not speak Spanish as a primary language and no recommendations from family or friends whom have traveled to the area. I found Rainforest Tours on the Internet and sent an e-mail requesting more information on a hotel in San Jose. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call from you that night and told you some of the criteria I had for hotel accommodations and the type of "adventure" I was looking for in CR. When we got off the phone I was very excited as I had confidence that you would work closely with me to custom design the perfect trip for me! We exchanged several e-mails and you made all the appropriate reservations, including airport transfers, hotel accommodations, and reservations for the various day trip excursions that I had chosen from the list on your web site.

I was very pleased with the lodging, central location, great food and casino on property. The best part was that the tour buses picked me up right at the hotel...which is very important so early in the morning. Highlight of my trip was white water rafting on the River Pacuare! As you know, I was a bit reluctant about the fact that I may not have the stamina or endurance for this adventure, but you reassured me that I would do just fine. The guides on all of the excursions were very friendly, knowledgeable, and bilingual. In retrospect, each of the tours that I took were described and outlined very well on your web site.

For anyone planning a trip to Costa Rica, I highly recommend Rainforest Tours to custom design a trip just for you!

Hi Arturo,

Our trip to Costa Rica was perfect. I am so glad we decided to go with Rainforest tours instead of renting a car. I am not sure we will ever drive there, roads were ok but some of the drivers were scary. It was really nice to have Alan pick us up and explain things to us on our long drive. The rest stop area was fun and we all enjoyed a great lunch together. He was very helpful to us when we arrived at the timeshare.

The float trip was fun and we had a great guide. Our pick up the next day was a little confusing tbut it worked out ok and we were off to Arenal. We loved the hotel, friendly staff, great room and a perfect view of the volcano the whole time we were there. Liked all the tours there and the hot springs was great, there were only about 8 people there so it was like we had it to ourselves. All of the guides were very knowledgeable and were happy to help us spot birds. We had Andrey Acuna on the hanging bridges tour and he was great, Bill really enjoyed talking with him.

The shuttle-boat-shuttle worked out great, what a long tiring road that is into Monteverde, but the scenery was great. Our hotel was very welcoming and our room was fine. We were rained on 85% of the time but we expected that so we were good. The tour of Monteverde was ok but since it was raining so hard we did not see much. After the tour we asked our guide to call our driver and cancel our pickup. We then went back to park and hiked for several more hours on our own. Then walked back to hotel. We were soaked but we saw lots of frogs and birds. Checked out the cheese factory, great cheese and wonderful milkshakes. Our most disappointing tour was the Sky Trek, we were with some other folks with younger kids and all they wanted to do was walk across the bridges and then do the zip line. So Bill and I got pulled along on the fast pace, the guide tried to point birds out but it was a little difficult. The sun came out when we got back to hotel so we walked down to Stellas for lunch and checked out CASEM. Got back in time for our pick up, wild ride back to San Jose but everyone very nice. Our last night at the hotel, the people there were very nice and our room was huge, clean and perfect for our last night. Complimentary made to order breakfast and then a complimentary cab ride to the airport. Customs went ok and we made it home with no problems, talking about when we can return.

Thank you again for making all of the arrangements for us and we will be in touch as soon as we can come back and will highly recommend your company.

Hi Arturo,

Perry and I had a great time in your country. Costa Rica is absolutely beautiful.

We wished we had gotten to meet you but our drivers were wonderful. Gerado was very helpful and a lot of fun. He had a wealth of knowledge. Allen was also great. That was money well spent.

Thank you for helping us with a trip to your country we have wanted to take for a long time. You did a good job showing the variation of Costa Rica.

Arturo,

Our family had the most amazing time in Costa Rica. We were very pleased with all the accommodations and the tours we experienced while in your beautiful country. We appreciate that you got to know our travel and adventure styles so that you could plan a customized trip that was enjoyed by all five of us. Our vacation was extremely enjoyable and stress free. Thanks to your pre-arrangements and our wonderful driver, Alan, everything went smoothly.

Our travel style fit right in with the peacefulness, beauty and outdoor adventures of the Osa Peninsula. Thank you for sending us there, we loved it! We also loved scuba diving Caño Island, exploring Corcovada National Park, watching the Arenal Volcano erupt, horseback riding to La Fortuna waterfall, relaxing at the Hot Spring Pools, but most of all we loved zip lining 600 feet over the rainforest canopy! What a thrill! We have many wonderful experiences and hundreds of pictures to remember Costa Rica.

We hope to come back to Costa Rica someday and will certainly contact Rain Forest Tours for more great travel advice when we do.

Sincerely,

Jim King, , Trista King, Patrick Sanders and Tara King

Arturo,

First off, next time we go to Costa we must meet!, as we did not get to meet this time! (=

I want to Thank you for all of your help, suggestions, and advice. The trip was AMAZING!!!!!!!!

San Jose was okay...not the nicest part of Costa, but we expected that, the hotel we stayed at was cool in a unique kind of way, overall it wasnt too bad; dinner at Hotel Grano de Oro was 5 stars...WOW!

White water rafting on the Pacuare River was an experience of a LIFETIME! What a rush/fun!!!!! The horseback ride and hike to La Fortuna waterfall was also amazing!!!!! What a workout, that we topped off with an evening at Tabacon. You were absolutely right, one cannot visit Arenal and not swing by Tabacon's hotsprings! OMG! and the dinner was delicious also.

The ziplining in Monteverde was one of the scariest things Ive ever experienced, they had a practice line which I did, BUT I was not brave enough to do the tour! I am so scared of heights!!!!! My spouse did it, and he said it was also an experience of a LIFETIME! His hands were shaking when he got off the last line haha! The fishing tour in Quepos was a hit! We caught a 20Lb Mahi and had it cooked at our hotel in Manuel Antonio and the whole staff ate with us from our catch! Costa Rica is truly a beautiful place. Everyone is humble, giving, sweet and friendly.

Everything you booked for us, from hotels, to transfers, to tours etc was perfectly on time, professional, and PERFECT. I honestly have no complaints. You and the ppl you have operating with you are EXCELLENT.

Thank you for time and patience and corresponding and answering my 100 emails/questions before the trip (= You really made our vacation SMOOTH and worry free! I will send you pics this week for the album.

Again,
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
Pura Vida!!!!!!!

Arturo,

Thank you so much for the great trip.  Allan was a great driver and very personable.  The group really enjoyed it.  I will forward your name and company on for anyone I know who might need your services in the future.

Good morning,

We have contracted with Rain Forest tours on all three of our trips to Costa Rica.  As with our previous trips, this one went just as planned.

We were very pleased with every aspect of our trip.  The hotels were as advertised and all the drivers were prompt and polite.
Our zip-line, canopy was a highlight of our trip.  They were professional and a lot of fun.  I will try to send you a couple of photos soon.

We have recommended your company to some of our friends.  Thank you for all your assistance and we plan to contact Rain forest Tours again in the future.

Hi Arturo,

I just wanted to get back to you now that I am home and, sadly back to real life). We absolutely loved your country, and the tours were wonderful!!! You did a great job arranging everything. We feel that we saw so much even in our short time there. The hotels were charming and very well located and the guides were so knowledgeable and thorough. We particularly loved Jaime Guzman, who was our guide for the long day at Arenal. He knows so much about the nature of the area, and found much of the wildlife that we would have missed without his expert eye.  All the guides/drivers were extremely nice.  I have only been home 1 day and I have already recommended you to several friends and family. As I work for Delta Airlines, I hope I can drum up some business for you. I will definitely be back with my kids.

Thank you so very much...

Hello Arturo, thanks for your email.

We had a really wonderful time in Costa Rica and are very confident that we picked the right nation from all of Central America to visit. (We have previously visited Belise, Mexico, Peru, Chile & Argentina. I have known something of Costa Rica's unique characteristics ever since I was a grad student in the 1970s engaged in Development Studies. It was fascinating to see how the nation had developed, in person.)

We are grateful to you for arranging such an excellent itinerary. In our view, visiting Corcovado first was better than at the end of the trip, as others seemed to be doing it. That is because it gave us a total immersion experience, from the start. As you predicted, that Corcovado was an absolute highlight of the trip.

Being keen birders we were delighted with our birding & other natural history guided tours. And yes, we got the quetzal and the Three-wattled Bellbird on our last morning at Monteverde! We hired a guide at Puerto Viejo (Talamanca) who was of mixed Indigenous and African descent who was excellent, providing some cultural insights that others might not have been able to provide. We had just one guide who was disappointing. That was the early morning birding trip at Arenal. I did not get his name, although I asked him. He was not knowledgable about the birds, ill-equipped: no field guide and poor quality binoculars, and made a number of errors in his bird identification. Had no interest in looking at and trying to identify the difficult ones, eg in the Flycatcher family. He might possibly be Jose Avez, based on a promotional sheet he gave us for A.G.U.I.A. Tours.

The rest was fantastic! Great food, delightful people, all the arrangements, incl transfers and accommodation, were excellent.

The only downside was the travel through the USA. It is amazing that the nation that considers itself to be a or the world leader in technology and everything else takes 3 hours to transit a passenger from one aircraft to another. Absolute chaos, rude staff, a total mess. Next time I visit Costa Rica I'll take the Sydney-Auckland-Santiago flight, rather than via Los Angeles. I'm never, ever, going through that airport again!

We are telling our friends in the Australian birding groups, and others, that Costa Rica is a must visit, and that you can assist with the arrangements.

When I get to looking at my photos I'll give thought to what could be added to your online photo gallery.

Thanks again, and best wishes -

Hi Arturo,

We had an AMAZING experience with Rainforest Tours! Freddie was fantastic! The hotel in La Fortuna was great, and we loved the hot springs. Our favorite was definitely the canopy tour with. I would definitely recommend that to others. On the way back to San Jose, Freddie made sure to show us some extras like a pineapple plantation and a place where lots of iguanas hang out. The van was really nice, and we enjoyed having the whole thing to ourselves! When we got to San Jose, Freddie was dropping us off at a hostel we had booked on our own. It looked kind of bad from the outside, so Freddie walked us to the door to make sure everything was OK before leaving us. He was very friendly and patient as we tried to improve our Spanish! Overall, we had an excellent trip.

Thank you for everything!

Everything went very well, thank you. All of the arrangements went smoothly except the butterfly farm didn't pick us up as scheduled but did come later after we called. Your drivers were excellent and very helpful in making a few requested changes. Also we were impressed by the shuttle services--they seem very efficient.

One item you might mention to future La Paz Waterfall Gardens visitors is that part of the path along the stream is washed out or caved in and the trip involves a fairly strenuous return up some steep steps rather than a shuttle ride back to the top of the hill. It's very nice there though, I'm glad we went even though you only get to see two of the waterfalls.

We really enjoyed the early morning birding tour and our guide, Andrey, was excellent. We even saw some spider monkeys--he said it was the first time he had seen them there out of the many times he had led trips.

We enjoyed the other trips also, and our visit to the hot springs. We were treated royally by all the hotel and restaurant staff.

I may be planning a return trip with my son in the near future (within the next year) and will certainly consult with you regarding arrangements if that happens. We would want to do a few different things--maybe a zip line, rafting, snorkeling, surfing--things like that. We would want to spend about a week there in CR. Suggestions?

Anyway, it was a great trip and feel free to use us as a reference. It was good to meet you and work with you and your staff. Thank you a lot for your help. Haven't put any photos on the computer yet but have a few good shots which I will forward when I can. Muchisimas gracias por toda la ayuda. Pura Vida.

Hi Arturo,

I would like to thank you for arranging our itinerary with professionalism and attention to our needs. All of the tours companies you booked us with picked us up on time and had knowledgable guides. We especially liked the accomodation at the Osa Peninsula, and think it is a great value considering the alternatives in the area.
The only time we were not met for an expected transfer was on arrival at the airport in Puerto Jimenez. So I had to call the lodge and tell them to pick me up. When I showed them the voucher they agreed to be responsible for transfers to and from the airport.

Thanks Again

Greetings from California!

Unfortunately, our trip ended all too soon, and we came back to a very wet and gloomy California.

Thank you so much for taking care of us through the changes due to weather and desire to be out of the main city. Please send me the costs for the differential in the hotel cost and Alan’s time on Saturday and I will send a check - (oh - please give me the address as well, thanks). We could do a Mastercard ad on the costs of the trip and the fact that having such great support when faced with adversity was "priceless".

Hasta Luego!
Dianna

Thank you for a memorable vacation in Costa Rica. All of the accommodations you arranged for us were great. We really appreciated Arturo greeting us at the airport with our rental vehicle and showing us the way out of San Jose. The Tabacon Hot Springs at Arenal was a great place to relax and unwind after a flight and drive to Arenal. And you were right, Arturo. Playa Carillo is the ideal tropical beach. We enjoyed mixing with the Ticos on the beach away from the usual touristy beach resorts.

Thanks again. I will certainly recommend Rain Forest Tours to anyone wanting a unique experience in Costa Rica.

Arturo,

I thought I would tell you a bit about the tours. I wanted to also thank you for helping me on such short notice. My trip was a bit unorganized regarding the tourist portion.. I do thank you for helping to make it fun and for getting everything set up.

The Calypso Island Tour was great. I can say that it was the best tour I've been on for the money and I've travelled around a bit.

The Canopy Tour was an interesting experience. (Canopy Carpenteria) or something like that. I realize that for one person it's difficult to set up. This guides turned out to be very fun! The two guys that took me zip lining were very safe. The tour was fun because they had a couple surprises where we did some free fall on ropes. For me this was a blast because I've done some rock climbing etc. and enjoyed the adrenaline. The only part that wasn't too organized was the lunch.. They had nobody there at the restaurant to make the lunch. I can understand that since I was only one person. I told the tour guy (Alex) he could get reimbursed for the lunch as part of his tip. It was a small place and not too well known but I would suggest that they are very friendly and provide a lot of good entertainment. It would be nice if you could help them get more customers. I think then they could do better with the lunch etc. They are nice people and have a good Zip-Line.

Thanks Again,

I thought perhaps these reviews would help you in recommending tourist activities.

Sincerely,
