Butterfly GardenValle del Sol, is a beautiful 18-hole golf course in the Central Valley (Santa Ana) surrounded by garden settings. In 1994 the architect Tracy May re-designed and build a new course. The results achieved by Tracy May are an outstanding championship golf course. May, with the assistance of the on-site construction supervisor Mark Dinan, has designed the layout to be challenging and fair under most conditions, and downright tough when the winds come swirling down from the surrounding mountains. The layout is diverse, small lakes and streams into play on almost every hole and requires the use of all the clubs in your bag. The rolling hills, mature trees that were part of the original course and the surrounding mountains and bird sanctuary create a great setting for golf.

Valle del Sol is also an excellent place to view Costa Rica’s Irazu, Barva and Poas volcanoes to the north and San Jose’s majestic mountain surroundings towards the west.
